Look to the heavens!

Tonight and tomorrow (Aug 12th and 13th) are the best nights for catching this years meteor shower! :)

If the weather is bad, never fear you can see them up until the 22nd. Look to the NE (for many of us), the highest concentration will be around the constellation Perseus.

I just adore the Perseid Meteor Showers. Once when driving home to Utah from college in Iowa, I got to see this shower as I was entering the Rockies (where there is pretty much no sign of civilization for hundreds of miles). At least 30 shooting stars were sent streaking through the fading night sky as it turned to that pale pink of sunrise. It was truly awe-inspiring and a great time for reflection about my place in this world. That was over 15 years ago and it's still a vision burned indelibly in my mind and my soul.

I missed the meteor showers this year. Went out late one night to try and seem them but they were not there... although the night itself was really nice.
