Writer's.....cramp?

So it's been almost a week and I decided I better write something again. Have you ever noticed that the longer you go without writing the harder it is to write? When you're in a groove, you just write, it doesn't...seem to matter as much, words just seem to flow. Take a bit of a break though, and all the doubts and fears seem to creep right back in.

Things like, nobody wants to read anything I have to say anyway. What's wrong with you, you don't know anything about writing leaving it to the pros. Shouldn't you be out looking for a job?

Maybe its a form of writers block. Its not that my writing sucks...I just don't have anything creative, I have writers block! It sounds almost cool...cause you have to be a writer to have writer's block, right?

So what do you do when the words don't seem to flow? Is it music, a movie, a walk, a long talk with an old friend? Me...well apparently I just open a window and start writing. :)

I seem to be having the same problem the last couple of days. I want to write. I can taste the words on the tip of my tongue but they seem to vanish before I can form them into anything readable. lol.
Maybe something will come to us soon, eh? :-)

The more I go out the more I 'm not in good mood to write.
So, I have to decide what i want most. Nice communicating with you.

I just write until it sounds better than gibberish. So many thoughts and ideas swirling in the mind and sometimes it is difficult to grasp a single one. When I cannot focus I relax with my music, and just try that stream of conscious thing my sophomore creative writing teacher taught me. It works!

I wonder about the writing process. I have read that people do drafts prior to putting it on the blog. I wish I could do that. I don't have that discipline. I just write anything that comes out of my head. I get a kind of general idea and go from there. I find that if I think too much it gets frightening.

Isn't it funny how people either consider themselves a writer or they don't? It's like singing - we all can sing and we all can write, it's just how well do we do on a scale compared to others.

I think just writing is the best way to get past that writer's block and to "be" a writer. Now, if I'm having to write about a particular topic, that's a little different. If I get stuck then, I'll often go for a walk or do some more research (whether that's looking up information, reading a book, or talking with people about an idea). Sometimes, going to bed is actually my best way to get ideas flowing - it's amazing what comes to me in the dark, quiet stillness.

Keep writing, we enjoy it!
